Mellerick’s Pharmacy on Patrick Street in Fermoy has once again been named among the Top100 Stores in Ireland by Retail Excellence, the largest industry representative organisation in Ireland. The store is one of just seven businesses in Cork to make the prestigious list, along with Cork City retailers Compu b, Lifestyle Sports, Sketchers, Specsavers and Miss Daisy Blue and O Crualaoi Delicatessen in Ballincollig.

The Top100 Stores are part of the Retail Excellence (RE) Awards, which were established in 1997 to promote best practice and encourage high standards in the Irish retail industry and are now the largest and most prestigious of its kind in Ireland. The awards ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 11th in the Malton Hotel in Killarney.

Speaking to The Avondhu, Orla Mellerick said she was delighted to be named as a top 100 retailer in Ireland again in 2017. “Our staff are wonderful at maintaining consistently high standards. This is a team effort and it's great for our team to be nationally recognised amongst the best in the country. We continually expand our ranges and customer offerings and try to keep our stock interesting and different all the time.”

She also expressed her positivity about the town of Fermoy as a whole and said she is delighted to have the opportunity to promote Fermoy nationally. “With Hanna's restaurant soon opening in Patrick street, DV8's recent opening and the great work being done by community groups such as the Fermoy forum, tidy towns etc we believe that Fermoy is on the up as a place to live work and do business in.”
