Fermoy Educate Together National School has stated that they are facing a ‘massive crisis’ which they claim has been ignored by the Department of Education.
In a statement issued by principal Toni Maguire this week, it was noted that the school is rapidly expanding – having started with just three children in 2018, it now has a predicted enrolment of 96 children for the upcoming school year.
Based on the bottom floor of the old Gaelscoil building, the school has become a place of ‘love, nurture and acceptance’ and sees 62% of the school community identifying with learning needs.
