The annual mass at the Farahy Mass Rock, Kildorrery, is set to take place on Thursday, 31st July at 7.30pm.

The mass rock was used as an altar in the mid 17th century when the celebration of Mass was deemed illegal due to the Penal Laws of 1695, leading to isolated locations being used to hold religious ceremonies.

The mass rock was restored as a Kildorrery Historical Society Millennium project and Mass has been held annually at the site ever since.

Residents of the area are hoping that a large crowd will participate as a tribute to those who suffered and sacrificed their lives for their faith in times past.
