In 1992, Mary Dennehy commenced teaching in Ballygiblin National School following postings in Kilworth and Mitchelstown.
On Friday evening last, family, colleagues, board of management members, parents' assocation representatives, along with pupils past and present, gathered in Ballygiblin church for a retirement Mass and ceremony in her honour.
Fellow teacher, Brid Condon, said Mary was a respected colleague whose career was characterised by a complete commitment to the children in her care.
Mary Collins pointed out that during Mary's time in Ballygiblin, she would have taught close to 600 pupils. The principal went on to praise Mary's professionalism in the area of learning support.
