The feasibility study for the Mallow to Dungarvan greenway, which is to incorporate the town of Fermoy and surrounds, is expected to be completed in the first half of 2022 despite the fact that no funding for the project has yet been drawn down. 

Following a parliamentary question from Cork East TD, Seán Sherlock to the Minister for Transport on the greenway feasibility study, it was revealed that the initial study will not be ready until 2022.

“The feasibility of the greenway needs to be laid out in a much faster timeline, to ensure that we can get working on it right away.

“We need to see this project ramp up over the coming months and see business cases presented to Government,” Deputy Sherlock said.
