Magnificent new facilities opened in Kilworth

Last Saturday was the culmination of several years of planning and hard work as GAA president Jarlath Burns, made the long trip from county Armagh to officially open Kilworth GAA’s new facilities.

Kilworth GAA has continually led the way when it comes to providing facilities for its members and while refurbishment may have worked, members decided the time had come to future proof amenities and a decision was taken to demolish the old dressingrooms and toilets and replace them with a state-of-the-art facility, that would also include a fully equipped community gym, so vital in an era of strength and conditioning.

An ambitious task by any standard, the project was undertaken with great determination. Detailed meetings dealing with everything from specifications to finance followed, with everyone motivated by what was in the best interest of the club’s female and male members.
