The Transition Year art students in Loreto Secondary School, Fermoy have been very busy gathering junk and already-used materials and crafting them into remarkable wearable and outrageous couture fashion. They recently entered these into the Junk Kouture Recycled Fashion Competition 2013 which was open to all would-be designer secondary school students in Ireland.

The young expressive designers worked with various junk materials and created striking dresses which are also impressive works of art.

ERP, Ireland’s only pan-European compliance scheme for electrical waste and waste battery recycling are involved with the competition.

The Loreto entry has been chosen to go through to the regional finals in the University Concert Hall, Limerick on Thursday, 14th March at 7pm.
