The future of biodiversity in the Coolagown area was up for discussion on Monday night, as a packed classroom at Kilmagner National School hosted enthusiastic locals who turned en masse.
The public meeting at 7pm saw a strong cohort turn out to hear from Cork Nature Network and to discuss their own thoughts on the Coolagown Biodiversity Action Plan.
Addressing those in attendance, John Feeney of Coolagown Development Group, explained that they first got in touch with Cork Nature Network regarding the plan after they received funding of €5,000 from Community Foundation Ireland for the project.
“It’s working very well. We’re after having several ecologists in the area doing surveys and plans for birds and insects and all that kind of thing …” Mr Feeney said.
