The countdown is on for a group of locals in Cheltenham who’s horse that has a realistic chance in the St. James’ Place Festival Challenge Cup Open Hunters Chase on Friday – a race better known as ‘The Foxhunters’.

Carrying the hopes and dreams of the Near Or Never Syndicate is Con’s Roc, towering over 17hh, a 9-year-old which the group were very lucky to buy.

With a record of 4 wins under his girth, Con’s Roc, who is trained by Terence O’Brien, is in good form as he eyes his Prestbury Park challenge. Regular pilot, Darragh Allen, will be on board for the big race. The syndicate are keen to credit Terence for keeping faith with a horse which has overcome serious injury during his chasing career.
