Local volunteers have solved the problems of poor public transport in North Cork as they established a Local Link bus route, thereby assisting students from the Mitchelstown and Fermoy area to attend Mallow College.

Cllr Deirdre O’Brien told The Avondhu she was delighted that the work of the local people brought back the service. 

“It is a great outcome from ongoing persistence to have a Local Link bus route servicing Fermoy to Mallow College reinstated,” she said.  

“Students from Mitchelstown and Fermoy can now take up courses in Mallow College, thanks to Local Link, the drivers and volunteers for the fantastic service to the area.”
