Bartlemy girl back after a year of Missionary work

Last weekend was a unique one for the parish of Rathcormac and Bartlemy. Aoife Kiely from Ballinwillin, Bartlemy spoke at the Masses in the two Churches on Saturday night and Sunday. Aoife has returned from a year of Voluntary Mission work in Canada and was delighted to be given the opportunity to speak about her great and special time.

“Last year I finished my Leaving Cert and after lots of thought & prayer, I made the decision to give a year of my life to the Lord and to serve with NET Ministries in Canada. I first encountered NET at the Dominican Church in Cork City when I was 12, never thinking I would ever do anything like that but 7 years later I was delighted to be accepted as a missionary.

“NET stands for National Evangelisation Teams and it is a Catholic organisation that started in the US, moved to Canada, Ireland, Australia, Scotland and Uganda. It consists of young adult missionaries who speak to young people about Jesus and to give them an opportunity to encounter Him in their own lives.
