Members of Conna Drama Group kicked off their 2024 theatrical campaign in the local hall last Friday night with the successful staging of Tom Smith’s ‘Drinking Habits’. Promising patrons high jinks, tall tales and lots of laughs, experienced director Brendan Hurley and a talented cast, certainly delivered.

Produced by Patrick Murphy, stage managed by Anna Howard and with Noreen Daly in charge of costumes, this production bowled along nicely, bringing an enthusiastic audience in tow.

Held in association with Conna Community Council who looked after front of house duties, the play stars Laura Hyde (Sr. Augusta), Mairead O’Driscoll (Sr. Philomena), Ann Hurley (Mother Superior), Doireann Hayes (Sr. Mary Catherine) and a very convincing Peter Barry in the role of Fr. Chenille. There were also brilliant performances from Cian McCarthy, James Moroney, Anna Howard and Clodagh McAuliffe.
