The season of goodwill begins in earnest with the switching on of the Christmas lights and on Friday last it was the turn of Fermoy to shine.
Held in conjunction with Fermoy Business Association, Synergy (formerly Fermoy Credit Union) and Cork County Council, this event attracted a huge crowd on what a cool, crisp and dry evening. Proceedings commenced with a formal welcome from Cllr. Deirdre O’Brien.
In her address, she said Cork County Council was delighted to be associated with the Christmas lighting project in Fermoy before acknowledging all the hard work that was put in by Fermoy Christmas lights committee.
