A Barrack Hill institution closed its doors for the last time on Sunday after being in business for around 200 years.
The Long Bar on Barrack Hill, one of Fermoy’s longest-running bars, welcomed all its locals and regulars for the last time as proprietor Imelda Cullinan said goodbye to customers after 32 years of running the establishment.
“Sadly, because of the current economic climate, we had to close. We had 32 great years and no regrets. It’s the price of the ESB. The bills are just multiplying by the day.
“We had a lot of regulars and locals, generations of them and I was very well supported by neighbours and customers,” she said.
