It was with much regret the fourth consecutive cancellation of a Fermoy Coarse Angling Association (FCAA) festival was announced recently.

While the previous October and May festivals were cancelled due to the advent of Covid-19, Chairman of the FCAA Joe Slattery, told The Avondhu that the 2021 October Festival was cancelled due to a lack of accommodation in Fermoy,

“There’s very limited accommodation in town and we can’t run a competition if we can’t accommodate people. All of our regular entrants and visitors who come every year or twice a year were looking forward to it but we’ve had to pull the plug,” he said.
