By the time you read this, Kilworth based actor Kevin McCormack will have shot a scene with Irish film star Colin Farrell for a new film, 'The Lobster' which will be released next year.

The film features Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz and John C Reilly and is set in the future, in a world where single people are arrested and sent to a bizarre and creepy hotel, where they have to find a mate within 45 days or else face the fate of being turned into an animal and released into the woods.

Kevin told The Avondhu that the team started filming in March and will be filming in Kerry, Dublin and London, under Greek director Giorgos Lanthimos, who is taking on 'The Lobster' as his first English language film.

GOOD EXPOSURE

In a quirky approach to the characters, only the main character has a name - David, and all of the others are merely known by their character descriptions, so Kevin's part is Police Officer 2. On Wednesday of this week (May 7th), he was filming with Colin Farrell in Dublin.

He said that the roles were well contested and he's delighted to be doing a scene with Colin. "I'm really looking forward to the film, it's funny. My first feature role was in 'Strength and Honour' and I had scenes with Michael Madsen and Vinnie Jones - I just tend to land on my feet," Kevin said, adding that this will give him great exposure and hopefully boost his profile.

Kevin has done two short films already this year. As well as 'The Lobster', he will be doing another feature film later in the year, which is currently at the pre-production phase and while he couldn't reveal much, he said that 'The Good Sinner' features some big names in the Irish acting scene.
