Kilworth mourns Tony’s passing

County Sound's Sean Donnellan pictured with Tony Flynn at his shop in Kilworth in January 1996 on the occasion of County Sound's 6th birthday with locals in attendance.

It is with great sadness the people of Kilworth have learned of the death of one of their favourite sons – Tony O’Flynn of Main Street.

Tony passed to his eternal reward on Thursday and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Tributes have been flowing in to RIP.ie for this much loved character, many remembering him for ‘bringing their sweets and messages’ in the van when he went around the countryside each week.

Tony’s shop was the heart of the village for many years where people congregated to have a chat, catch up on the day’s events and take part in the banter that was usually started by Tony himself.

To his sister Lily and her family we extend our deepest sympathy.
