At the end of June, siblings Leah and Sean Flynn raised €3,610.20 through a garden fete in Kildorrery for the Irish Cancer Society. Leah and Sean's father, Shane had suffered from cancer before and seeing the good work they did for him when he was sick, prompted them to hold a fundraiser as a way of saying thank you and giving something back to the Irish Cancer Society.

On June 23 last, they had stalls with different items for sale, they held a raffle, their grandmother Hazel Sherlock kindly made and sold jams, chutneys and cordials, while Leah had sold handmade cards in the local shops beforehand. They also ran a raffle, had competitions to guess how many sweets were in the jar and had tea, coffee and gifts for sale.

Leah and Sean would like to thank everyone who helped them out in the lead up to the event as well as on the day, everyone who donated prizes and all who came and supported the good cause.
