Kilbehenny woman’s moving tribute to Tuam babies

796 small textile dolls have been lovingly hand-crafted by Kilbehenny woman Michelle Roche O’Sullivan, in tribute to the infants recorded as having died at the Tuam Mother and Baby Home in County Galway. 

Mrs Roche O’Sullivan brought her moving little creations to the Tuam site at the start of August.

She said she was inspired to create the tributes during lockdown by the work of Catherine Corless, the historian who first unearthed the scandal at Tuam.
