A road in Kilbehenny, which was described by Councillor Eddie Ryan as being in a worse state than when it was used by horses and carts, has been fixed through the Community Involvement Scheme.

A concrete road was laid as part of the scheme and the residents, who are very happy with the outcome, paid part of the costs for the work.

Councillor Eddie Ryan was very happy with the scheme and welcomed it, saying: "While the concept of people contributing to payment for roads is new, the residents of Garryvurragha, Kilbehenny were happy to do so and now have an excellent road. Six other such jobs have gone ahead in the South East Limerick area," the Galbally councillor said.
