Kilara Og received a massive boost recently thanks to the generosity of the O’Brien family who own and manage The Village Inn in Kilworth.

Kilara Og is a successful amalgamation between fellow parishioners, Kilworth and Araglin at juvenile level. Like all groups working with young players, it takes considerable effort and expense keeping everyone kitted out.

As a result of The Village Inn’s generosity, 4 new sets of jerseys have been acquired (for U10s, U12s, U16s and minors). Attractive and comfortable, these green and red jerseys will no doubt see plenty of action in the months and years ahead.

In addition to the jerseys, Kilara Og also received: footballs, sliotars, training bibs, water bottles and football pumps.

The official handover took place in Kilworth GAA clubhouse on Thursday last with the following Kilara Og mentors present: John Heggtveit (chairman), Denis Twomey (secretary), Brian Carey (treasurer), Liam Kenny, Sean Carey, Maurice Reidy and Alan Hegarty. The Village Inn was represented by Tom O’Brien – Tom was sincerely thanked for the wonderful gesture.

Speaking on behalf of his mother, Chris and other family members, Tom said The Village Inn was delighted to be associated with the excellent work being carried out by Kilara Og, he went on to wish them every success for the future.
