As part of the Department of Social Protection Jobs Week, a Jobseeker’s Workshop was held in Fermoy Community Youth Centre on Thursday last, September 29th, where unemployed people could get information and advice from experts on what is the best option for them going forward.

Groups such as the Cork Training Centre, Avondhu Blackwater Partnership and Ballyhoura Development had stands at the workshop, along with education providers such as UCC and CIT.

Visitors to the workshop were able to receive advice about career planning skills and information about updating their skills and qualifications to help them secure employment in the workforce.

The workshop also catered for those who are thinking of setting up their own business and those who are unsure of the benefits and supports that are currently available from the Department of Social Protection.
