Sarah Morrison and Caoimhe Gray Walsh took to the track on Saturday afternoon for the first time in Abbotstown in the Community Games final weekend.
In her U10 200m heat, Caoimhe was leading the race for the most part but was just pipped at the post into second place, but had easily secured a place in Sunday’s semi-final. Caoimhe ran another fantastic race on Sunday and placed 5th in her semi, just missing out on a place in the final.
Sarah put in a super effort to finish in second place in her U16 1,500m heat on Saturday and took to the track in the final on Sunday afternoon, picking off each of her competitors in the last lap to emerge victorious.
