In an eco-friendly drive this summer, INDIE19 are introducing new measures to help the festival become more environmentally aware, including a Heineken Cup return back scheme.
All bottled water on the Deer Farm site in Mitchelstown will be in biodegradable bottles, while all food vendors at INDIE19 are using biodegradable and compostable utensils only.
Organisers are asking patrons to use the recycling bins provided, return beer cups and most importantly to take their tents home in a joint effort to single use as much as possible.
“It's something we've increased year on year with a focus on recycling. This year we have a big push on reducing the amount of single use plastics in use, we hope to get that down by close to 90%,” organiser Michael Maher told The Avondhu.
