The Presentation Convent Church in Fermoy has come under the spotlight once again due to the dilapidated state that the building is believed to be in.

A series of photographs entitled ‘What remains of the Convent Chapel Fermoy’ was recently posted online, displaying not only the run-down exterior, but also the rapidly deteriorating interior.

Enquiries by The Avondhu to the Diocese of Cloyne, who own the building, and Cork County Council, revealed that ‘essential works’ and ‘immediate remedial measures’ are due to be carried out on the building. 

According to the Diocese of Cloyne, the roof of the building was damaged some 15-20 years ago.
