A decision on the future of the Lismore House Hotel has been put on hold as a result of a ‘further information’ request from Waterford City and County Council.
In late December, a planning application was submitted to the council by McHt Unlimited Company seeking the construction of an extension to the building.
Alterations to fenestration and the change of use of a nightclub to a café and retail space were also sought in the application.
“The hotel has been closed since 2016 and it is the new owner’s intention to have the hotel recognised both locally and nationally as a hotel of exceptional style and quality …” planning documents read.
