In what was their first foray on the festival scene, Glanworth Players accepted an invitation to participate in the West Limerick Drama Festival in Knockaderry on Saturday last.

The event was well organised and well supported and the judge Terry Byrne, was well impressed with the group’s performance.

We went back down Sunday night for the results and we weren’t disappointed. We got nominations for best supporting actress, best actor, set management, director, lighting and make-up. It was great to do so well and we were delighted when he announced us as the winner of the confined section.

This is our first win at a festival and a big congratulations must go to everyone involved in the club. A lot of help was needed to transport sets, props, equipment etc.

‘The Year of The Hiker’ is doing one final performance this Friday night, March 18th at 8pm in Castletownroche. Come join us!
