A recent spate of vandalism in Rathcormac, particularly in the old part of the graveyard, has been met with anger and dismay locally. 

While teenagers hanging around in the graveyard has for a long time been reluctantly accepted, in recent weeks and months the volume of litter has become a more prevalent problem.

Furthermore, where those using the sacred space are sitting on tombs, other objects in the graveyard have been moved to make sitting more comfortable and convenient.

One person The Avondhu spoke with said how visiting the graveyard was becoming intimidating.
