‘Grounds to Forget’ recalls the neglected history of Fermoy’s mother and baby home

‘Grounds to Forget’ a new exhibition by Fermoy visual artist and researcher, Katie Drago, will go on display at the Blackwater Valley Makers premises.

Opening this Saturday, May 9th, the exhibition runs until June 27th and zones in on the neglected history of the mother and baby home at St Patrick’s Hospital in Fermoy. 

The ‘Nursery Rescue Society’ was a mother and baby home that operated from the old workhouse on the grounds of what is now Fermoy Community Hospital, an institution which Ms Drago has investigated extensively across her work.
