Members of Burncourt Community Council are taking a well-deserved break this week following a very successful festival. Romance was very much in the air as the village hosted a stag and hen party in addition to a sellout wedding.

Last weekend, attention switched to the great outdoors as locals went in search of cash prizes at the annual car treasure hunt – this event has a core of very loyal enthusiasts, and they, along with some ‘casuals’ patrolled the highways and byways of Burncourt last Saturday.

Burncourt Carnival Day on Sunday 23rd proved a huge hit with all ages. The soccer field adjacent to the local national school is an ideal venue for this type of attraction and a party atmosphere prevailed all afternoon.

The festival raffle is another important revenue stream and we are glad to report that it was very well supported. A special word of thanks is also due to those who donated prizes – the raffle was held in Mulcahy’s Bar last Sunday night.

TEAM EFFORTS YIELDS RESULTS

Burncourt Community Council is a voluntary organisation committed to improving and developing the village and its environs.

As in previous years, volunteers put in a sustained effort and they were rewarded with tremendous public support – well done to all concerned.
