Glenbrohane Gala Weekend starts this Thursday

Glenbrohane Gala Weekend returns for it’s 31st year between September 25 and 28, and promises once again another event packed four days.

Glenbrohane Gala Weekend returns for it's 31st year between September 25 and 28, and promises once again another event packed four days.

Before the Gala Weekend gets underway, there are two walks at Rocks Walk scheduled for Sunday, September 21 at 12 noon. Registration is at 11.30am in the car park, cost is €5.

On Thursday, September 25, there is a cinema night in the Glen Hall between 7-8.30pm. Cost per child is €2, adults free if accompanying children. On Friday, the Glen Hall is hosting a Progressive 45 Drive, €10 to play with top cash prizes and a raffle on the night. This event gets under way at 9pm.

On Saturday, "Glenbrohane 'Our Gathering'" is getting its formal book launch, at 9pm in the Glen Hall. Sunday is Gala Day, with a Family Fun & Sports Day between 2-6pm in Glenbrohane NS. It starts at 2pm from the Hall with a fancy dress parade, led by the Liam Lynch Pipe Band.

Other attractions on the day include: country market, bouncy castles, side shows, underage football, ground hurling, ladies football, Betty's Shop, face painting, sports at 4pm (toddler - U12), Lady & Gent of the Day, doll & teddy bear competition.
