Glanworth and Cappoquin men’s unique golf achievement

Swing4Cancer finished in style last Saturday evening at 10pm in Castlemartyr Golf Club. The trio travelled 1,800km over the 2 days raising over €21,000 so far for Breast Cancer Ireland.

Last month we reported how Michael Sheehan from Glanworth and Eoin Landers from Cappoquin had planned to team up with their friend DJ Geaney for a fundraising campaign aimed at remembering DJ’s mother Nora Geaney while at the same time raising funds for charity.

Nora passed away in 2011 after a lengthy battle with breast cancer. She was a keen golfer and was heavily involved in Castleisland Golf Club. The 3 lads all met in college and lived together for a while so were around DJ when his Mother was ill.

The Glanworth man came up with the idea of a charity event called Swing4Cancer . . .
