Gardai are investigating an incident in Glenroe that has been described as an act of 'pure thuggery' and 'mindless vandalism'.

Ahead of Glenroe's intermediate hurling county final clash against Kildimo-Pallaskenry in Kilmallock, a car had been placed in the centre of the village painted in the team’s colours and draped in flags.

But last Sunday morning, residents woke up to find the back window of the vehicle smashed, along with flags torn down and signs vandalised.
