Vacancies in west Waterford Garda stations are intended to be filled this year, according to correspondence from Chief Superintendent, Anthony Pettit.
Updates follow as fears regarding potential Garda shortages in the area were highlighted recently, as a Tallow-based Garda is due to retire this month, while in Lismore, another recent retirement for the force has not yet been replaced.
An Garda Siochána have recently confirmed that members throughout the Waterford/Kilkenny division have been invited to seek transfers to the stations with vacancies.
