Two little girls from Galbally helped made history for the South Limerick village this week, being the first club in the history of the Limerick GAA Clubs’ draw to win the first prize two months in a row.

There were big smiles and excited giggles from sisters Ruth (5) and Aoife (3) Kiely, as they went to O’Connell’s Bar in Galbally with their parents Louise and John on Tuesday night to collect their cheque for €10,000.

While five-year-old Ruth grappled with the concept of a cheque, her sister was excitedly jumping up and down telling me she had won ’10,000 money’.

Last month, mother and daughter Kathleen and Orla Hickey won the first prize of €10,000 and over the past three years, Galbally has had five first prize winners.
