Sporting organisations are the latest group to be dealt a blow by Covid-19 regulations with Tuesday’s announcement of tightening restrictions which will be in place until September 13. 

These new restrictions limit all outdoor events to 15 people and indoor events to six people. They also require that sporting events be held behind closed doors with the presence of spectators to be prohibited.

Fermoy FC Junior team manager Ricky Fraher said that Fermoy FC will have to review their training schedules following the announcement.

“The fifteen outdoors would allow for one coach and 14 players and obviously we would have a lot more than that. It’s a bit disappointing really, the regulations for sport seem to be taking a bit of a hit, especially when people are allowed in restaurants and pubs,” he said.
