One of Castlelyons' most active clubs hosted a very successful gala event in the local community centre on Friday night last.
Thanks to a great team effort, a near capacity crowd turned up for a night of flowers and fashion, courtesy of Castlelyons Home & Garden Club.
Always very well planned, this pre-Christmas gala fundraiser is a consistently popular occasion.
Proceedings got underway with a cheese and wine reception which set the tone for what proved to be a special function for members and non-members alike.
Ina McCarthy from Midleton gave a wonderful display and patrons picked up lots of creative ideas for the festive season.
After an interval that allowed patrons to enjoy a cup of tea and support the raffle, attendees returned to their seats for a most entertaining fashion show – all the latest trends were on show and models did a great job.
Thanks to the excellent attendance, substantial funds were raised for Breakthrough Cancer Research and ARC House – both excellent causes who provide outstanding support for patients and their families.
Proceeds will be presented at a special function in Castlelyons on Tuesday evening next, November 21 at 9.30pm – everyone welcome.
