John Landers of blackwatersalmon.com and Ivor O’Connor with three of the five large salmon Ivor caught at the Ballincurragh beat on the Blackwater river on Sunday.

The Blackwater is proviing particularly bountiful at present with a bumper catch of five large salmon landed on Sunday by one group of anglers on the Ballincurrig beat, where  22lb and 14lb salmon were landed a day apart last week.

John B Keane's nephew, Ivor O'Connor is a fairly regular visit to the Ballyduff area to fish the Blackwater. He enjoyed a memorable birthday on Sunday when he booked a day's fishing with John Landers of blackwatersalmon.com and ghillie Connie Corcoran. They caught five large salmon on the day, two of which were released. Ivor was reportedly a very happy man heading back to The Kingdom that night!
