Fiona York has been touring extensively over the past number of years with ‘Rose’ – a one-woman play by Martin Sherman that she has truly made her own over the past decade or so.
This was performed in Edinburgh in 2006 and Adelaide in 2007 and has since been taken to far flung places all over the globe. Fiona is now back performing in studio spaces and smaller venues throughout Ireland.
She staged ‘Rose’ at the Village Arts Centre, Kilworth some years ago to a most enthusiastic reception so the venue is delighted to have her back for another performance on Friday, July 8 at 8.15pm. The play is directed by Ben Hennessy (ex Red Kettle).
“Audiences are loving Rose. Fiona York is truly amazing. Don’t miss this tour de force” – Viking Theatre.
The play is both a sharply drawn portrait of a feisty Jewish woman and a moving reminder of some of the events that shaped the last century.
‘Rose received a rapturous reception and standing ovations…the audience was spell-bound” The Examiner
“Fiona York is captivating…it’s a must to go and see” Irish Independent.
