Festival lift-off in Kilworth took place last weekend and the mood is understandably upbeat with a full and varied programme to look forward to until the end of the week.
The centrepiece of the Bank Holiday weekend was the fancy dress parade. Yes, it did threaten to rain on this particular parade, however, the Gods were smiling on the north Cork village and the mainly youthful participants were able to proceed in comfort.
With plenty of imagination evident, the adjudication panel had plenty of food for thought. Some of the themes included, space travel, climate change and the management of plastic.
