The condition of Fermoy’s main street is ‘an absolute disgrace’ and funding needs to be released by the TII (Transport Infrastructure Ireland) to allow works on the footpaths to get underway.

This was the view of Councillor Noel McCarthy, who lamented the lack of any improvement along Fermoy’s main artery in recent times.

“Over the last couple of months, the amount of people who have been saying to me that the main street in Fermoy is totally unacceptable. It’s not done right, we need to get it done. We need the funding from the TII,” Cllr McCarthy told July’s meeting of the Northern Committee of Cork County Council, held in Cork on Monday.
