Fermoy short film to be released this week

Reese Treacy from Fermoy is one of the star actors in the new short film 'Jimmy and Sophie' due to be released this week.

A short 9 minute film directed by Coláiste an Chraoibhín teacher Girish Patel and starring young Fermoy man Reese Treacy, has been recognised at film festivals across the world and is due to be released to the public on October 6.

The film, ‘Jimmy and Sophie’, deals with the themes of loneliness and friendship in difficult times and was shot in Fermoy on a small budget under the keen eye of Girish Patel.

The script was originally written to inspire young persons who experience difficulties in life by virtue of medical conditions that may restrict many activities.

“Our movie has demonstrated just what can be done with a simple idea, a couple of hours filming, and most importantly the self-belief with which anyone, whatever their personal circumstance, can achieve amazing things,” said Mr Patel.
