
Fermoy public toilets are due to be ‘deep cleaned’, with the facility coming in for criticism from some quarters, as the toilets appeared were a vandalised and unhygenic condition.
One individual said that in the past few weeks, the public toilets, located at Ashe Quay, were ‘filthy’ and ‘the dirtiest I’ve ever seen’.
The gent’s toilets had staining on the walls and around the urinals, while the urinals seemed to not be draining and were caked in filth and grime. Several areas on the walls appeared splattered an unknown substance, while the floor was also heavily stained. The hand soap dispenser was also reportedly empty for some time too.
The Avondhu checked the condition of the women’s public toilets on Monday, which, although not in as bad condition, however, did have some staining on the stainless steel doors and sinks, and some remaining signs of vandalism, as wet paper appeared stuck in one corner of the ceiling.
