Staff currently being employed by Fermoy Town Council will continue to be based in Fermoy. This very welcome news was confirmed this week.

Questions have been raised about whether or not the Fermoy staff will be moved once the town council is abolished and Cllr Noel McCarthy raised the issue at a recent Northern Area Committee meeting.

He was told that the staffing structures are being finalised and once agreed, the offices where the staff will be located will be confirmed.

Good news, which was welcomed by Cllr McCarthy, came with the additional comment that there are no proposals to locate the Fermoy Electoral Area headquarters in another location within the municipal district area.
