The Fermoy & District Branch of the Labour Party are actively recruiting new members following their successful AGM in the Fermoy Community Youth Centre last week, which saw Assumpta Murphy elected as chairperson of the local organisation.
Joe Tobin was elected as secretary and PRO, while Dave Kenneally was elected as treasurer. The group will meet once a month going forward, or whenever circumstances dictate, and discuss a range of local issues and topics. Ms Murphy said the AGM was a ‘vibrant, well-attended and positive meeting’.
The local branch of Labour which has been in existence for many decades, is open to all those who have an interest in the local community and the issues that affect the public nationally.
