Fermoy Gardaí bid farewell to Sergeant Hughes

Those at Fermoy Garda Station bid farewell to Sergeant Dave Hughes last week who retired after 40 years of service in An Garda Síochana. 

Sergeant Hughes, a Cobh native, retired from the Cork North Divisional Office on Friday, May 13, having spent 26 years of his service in Fermoy Garda Station.

During his time in the force, he served in Clare, Cork City and the Garda College prior to Fermoy where he was responsible for setting up the Cork North Division.

Chief Superintendent Con Cadogan stated that “Sergeant Hughes formed an integral part of the Divisional team.”
