Fermoy, Mitchelstown and Charleville continue to await the introduction of CCTV to the area, despite having allocated funding for such prior to the introduction of GDPR laws.
According to a response issued to a notice of motion tabled recently by Cllr Ian Doyle, while the new law regarding community CCTV has been enacted, the sections governing the authorisation of installation and operation of CCTV have not yet commenced.
Cork County Council’s director of Corporate Services, Nicola Radley, outlined that this won’t commence until after the operational code of practice has been agreed.
