Ambulance control base, hospital, not informed of start of Courthouse Road works, councillor says
The extensive planning done by Grange National School Parents' Association paid off handsomely last Sunday when a fine crowd attended their family fun day. Held in the grounds of Grange GAA, the event proved a huge hit with children and adults - the fact that the rain stayed away also helped.
There was no shortage of activities with the bouncy castle, carousel and face panting stall all doing a strong trade. Patrons were invited to guess the weight of a very substantial looking pig, try their hand at sponge throwing or practise their penalty taking skills - alternatively, they could sample refreshments from the catering tent while sitting on the many straw bales strategically located around the pitch.
Situated a short distance outside Fermoy on the Glanworth road, Grange National School is a consistently popular choice with parents - so much so that extra class rooms are currently under construction. When complete, this extra space will greatly enhance facilities at the school.
Like all its counterparts, Grange National School must fundraise to ensure children have the little extras and in this regard, the school and its very active parents' association have never been found wanting. Last Sunday's venture was an example of what a well organised and committed group of people can achieve. Everyone who attended was more than happy to give generously, knowing that funds would benefit the pupils of Grange N.S.
Both the school and parents' association are very grateful to everyone who contributed or assisted in any way - the day was a great success and just reward for all the preparation and hard work.
