Farmers will protest at Kepak for ‘as long as it takes’

Local farmers began a protest for fairer beef prices and fairer grading systems outside Kepak processing plant in Watergrasshill on Thursday night last September 5 and intend to stay there until they get the return they are asking for. 

“ … we were going to death slowly. We felt that we had to up the anti,” said one of the protestors at the picket line outside Kepak. 

The protestors outside the Kepak plant in Watergrasshill are made up of both farmers and those from an agricultural background or spin-off industries and they are currently operating a rotation system so that there is someone at the picket line 24 hours a day.
