The family of Fermoy native Tina Satchwell have issued an emotional appeal for her to return home this week, more than three months after she went missing from her home in Youghal.
Tina Satchwell (nee Dingivan) is originally from St Bernard’s Place; she was living in Youghal for around two years and was missing for four days before her husband Richard reported her missing to gardaí on March 24.
Tina is described as five foot six inches tall, of medium build with shoulder-length blonde hair and blue eyes. In an appeal on RTÉ’s Crimecall on Monday night, Richard described the last time he saw to his wife on Monday, March 20 and appealed for her to come home.
“She came downstairs. I gave her a cup of tea and a slice of toast. Then she asked if I’d go over to Dungarvan. I gave her a peck, and said I’d see her in a couple of hours, the last thing I said to her. A couple of hours, and now it’s three months later. She asked me if I’d go over to Dungarvan for her. I went to Dungarvan, got the bit of food she asked me to get from Aldi over there. Then I returned to Youghal.
“And I opened the front door and I went through, normally she’d be in the front room with the pets, watching MTV or something, and she wasn’t there, but the dogs were. I thought, she’ll just be upstairs or something. I went up, she wasn’t there. Naturally I thought she’d gone out for a walk on her own. Time passed, she didn’t come back,” he said.
Mr Satchwell appealed directly to his wife to return home. “Tina, come home. There’s nobody mad at you. My arms are open. The pets are missing you. I just can’t go on not knowing, even if you just ring the guards, let people know you’re alright.”
Tina’s aunt Margaret Maher described her disappearance as ‘very out of character’ and said her niece wouldn’t go anywhere on her own. “She wasn’t a person who would do that. All the family has been contacted and nobody in the family has seen or heard from her.”
Tina’s cousin Tina Howard said she was known for her sense of style. “She always had something stylish on, no matter where she was going. If she was going to get bread or milk, she’d have something nice on.”
